Abstract
Acquired polycystic kidney disease is a newly recognized type of polycystic kidney disease that is frequently demontrated in the kidneys of long-term dialysis patients. Renal tumor, bleeding and pain can be complicated in these patients. But
spontaneous
perirenal rupture of acquired polycystic kidney without history of trauma is very rare.
Here we report one case of spontaneous rupture of acquired polycystic kidney in a lont-term dialysis patient. He was 42-year-old man and seven years ago he was diagn9osed with end-stage renal failure. He has been treated with regular hemodialysis
for 6
years. He felt sudden flank pain 3 days before admission. He did not have any history of trauma on his abdomen, well demarkated increased density around the small contrated right kidney was noted and multiple variable sized cysts were shown.
Under
the
impression of acquired polycystic kidney and perirenal hamatoma, we removed right kidney and perirenal hematoma surgically. On pathologic examination, removedd right kidney was 9¡¿5¡¿3cm and showed multiple variable sized cysts in cortex and
medulla.
However there was no evidence of adenoma or adenocarcinoma. After nephrectomy he recovered. And now, he is on regular chronic hemodialysis session.
